Opal is believed to be particularly fortunate for Librans, also helpful for lung conditions. Opal reflects back to us our own emotions. It is the sacred stone of the cherokee people who believe that it carries within it the energies of the moon and the sun. Opalite is a man made stone but it is said to have beneficial properties such as stabilising the moods and stimulating psychic abilities (especially when placed on the third eye area). It is a calming gemstone and resembles the moonstone with its stunning translucence. Indeed it is often called Moonstone because it resembles it.
