"The stone of mastery and self control” Black Onyx is a form of the silica mineral, agate. In its banded form it is known as Sardonyx. This is a gem that attunes us to a higher power and helps us absorb what we need from the universe. Qualities it brings are strength, stamina, steadfastness, patience, tenacity, firmness, courage and self control. In healing, black onyx is said to help in treating teeth, bones and bone marrow, blood disorders, epilepsy, cells and feet .
